My good friend (also my Shijie from Shaolin), Rita had asked if I was willing to be one of my bridal model for one of her wedding event and I agreed. What can I say... I was more than happy to and glad that she has asked me. Rita had initially wanted to me to be the photographer but thankfully she needed another (older) model and I guess I'm the lucky star :)
I used to be a server at Carl House Wedding Event Venue and I was only assigned to served the Bride and Groom. I enjoyed it. I love "Brides & Grooms" and weddings in general. I love wedding dressing and everything about that "special" moment and day.
Being an Asian(Hmong)-American woman, I cannot tell the future - I cannot see the future whether or not I would ever have an American wedding (for which, I love American weddings along with my own traditional wedding too). Anyway, I cannot say and do not know if I will ever get married one day. However, let's just pretend that this is my wedding already and I was married to a very sweet, lovely and handsome man so it's worth a wedding (lol). I love bridal dresses and it's always hard to find "The Dress" so being able to model and continue to model wearing different bridal dresses just makes me happy. You get the point.
No one knew what the grooms looked like until the day of the event. I could only pray that they would be tall (taller than be with heels on) and that they would be handsome. I mean, come on, who doesn't want a tall and handsome groom right? LOL. Not to be shallow or anything but, it's just a typical thought.
My heart dropped when a friend came in and said the grooms were not good looking at all.... (my heart literally dropped!) When I saw the grooms, they were good looking in their own ways.... however, I became the lucky star again. The groom that I was paired with was the most handsome of all and the tallest one too. He was actually hidden behind the doors so I didn't see him when we all met at first sight. Not to mention, he was the friendliest, sweetest, most talkative and he never left my side. We both received plenty of compliments on how we made such a good match and we both seemed realistic. :)
Our next bridal event will be in January consisting of 15+ brides and I'm stoked. I really have to be on a strict diet for this upcoming gorgeous wedding dress.
Lastly, I highly recommend any and every new bride to Hana Couture for their wedding dress! No doubt, Rita is "The Designer" with such knowledge, talent and will go above and beyond to make you become a goddess on your special day.
